With the increasing number of electric cars on the road, the need for evenly distributed, efficient and user-friendly charging stations is more pressing than ever. In this context, <strong>transflective displays<\/strong> emerge as an <strong>ideal technological solution for electric vehicle charging stations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Transflective displays, thanks to their ability to reflect ambient light, <strong>offer excellent readability even in intense light conditions<\/strong>, a fundamental aspect for outdoor charging stations. Display readability is, in fact, an essential aspect for enabling the <strong>charging process to run correctly<\/strong>, as well as opening up <strong>new ways of delivering outdoor advertising<\/strong> (DOOH  &#8211; Digital Out Of Home). Furthermore, transflective displays <strong>consume less<\/strong> energy than other types of displays, a significant advantage considering the importance of energy efficiency in the e-mobility sector.<\/p>\n<p>In this article we will explore in detail why transflective displays are an ideal technological choice for electric charging stations, analyzing their <strong>advantages<\/strong> in terms of <strong>readability, energy savings and durability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Transflective Displays: what are they?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Displays with Transflective technology are designed to offer good readability in intense ambient light conditions, including <strong>direct sunlight<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe display, equipped with a partially transparent reflective polarizer positioned in front of the backlight, ensures that all incoming <strong>ambient light<\/strong> is <strong>reflected and used to illuminate the screen<\/strong>. Transflective displays, in fact, benefit from bright ambient light, which is able to ensure content visibility even without backlighting.<br \/>\nA normal Transmissive display (TN) needs a very bright backlight to offer good readability in sunlight, and to do so it consumes much more energy. Incoming light is reflected and used to illuminate the TFT display.<br \/>\nTransflective TFTs have <strong>both &#8220;Transmissive&#8221; and &#8220;Reflective&#8221; modes<\/strong>, which work together for higher performance. As a result, images displayed on a Transflective display in very intense light conditions are perfect even without the backlighting present on a Transmissive TFT display. Customers using a Transflective TFT display can thus save energy by reducing or disabling the display&#8217;s backlight in bright environments.<\/p>\n<p>The Transflective TFT is attracting ever-growing interest due to the increasingly frequent demand for good performance in bright environments and direct sunlight. Transflective TFT vs high-brightness TFT<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Sunlight-readable TFT displays can be of the <strong>color Transflective<\/strong> type or the <strong>high-brightness<\/strong> type (Transmissive or TN display), both visible in sunlight conditions. But which sunlight-visible TFT display is best suited for your application? Let&#8217;s compare the two technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s make a<strong> complete comparison between the high-brightness TFT display and the Transflective one<\/strong> in terms of technical parameters, performance and costs, so as to gain an in-depth understanding and identify the sunlight-readable TFT display best suited to your application.<\/p>\n<p>The Transflective TFT screen is becoming increasingly popular, as displays capable of working in all lighting conditions are being requested more and more frequently: in <strong>daylight<\/strong>, or in bright environments, the <strong>&#8220;Reflective&#8221; mode<\/strong> of the display prevails through reflection off the internal glass structure; <strong>in darker environments<\/strong>, however, <strong>&#8220;Transmissive&#8221; mode<\/strong> dominates, with emissions coming from the display&#8217;s backlight. As a result, content readability in very intense sunlight conditions is perfect even without backlighting.
