VisionSOM-8Mmini, SOM (System On Module) module
The VisionSOM-8Mmini series is a family of SOM modules in SODIMM form factor based on the NXP i.MX8M mini application processor, featuring a Quad Core ARM Cortex-A53 (at 1.8 GHz) and ARM Cortex-M4 core (with speeds up to 400 MHz), along with a 2D (HD1080p60) and 3D OpenGL ES 2.0-compatible graphics processing unit (GPU) and a video processing unit (VPU) with HD1080p60 H.264 and HD1080p60 H.265 functionality.
The VisionSOM-8Mmini is a highly integrated multimedia and video-playback-oriented SoM (System on Module) board, characterized by high computing power and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth (BLE 5.2) connectivity.
The option with built-in Wi-Fi and the Bluetooth module simplify the carrier board design, making the device an ideal solution for wireless applications. The VisionSOM-8Mmini provides a variety of memory configurations, including a flexible range of LPDDR4, eMMC and SD memory cards.
The SoM supports connections to a variety of interfaces: two high-speed USB with PHY, single 1 Gbit Ethernet, audio, display with touch panel and MIPI-DSI interface, and serial communication interfaces. The system also supports industrial-grade embedded applications.
SoMLabs also provides a complete hardware and software development board for the SoM in the form of a carrier board and optional TFT display and touch panel.
