ITR-3810: radar system for road intersection traffic management

The ITR-3810 is a RADAR sensor specifically designed and developed for traffic monitoring and road intersection management. This traffic monitoring radar is characterized by high precision and reliability in target detection and classification (vehicles and people): thanks to its wide detection range of up to 300m and a field of view of 110° x 30°, two devices can be sufficient to manage and control all four directions of even a large intersection.

ITR-3810 traffic radar functions: speed, distance, direction of movement and angle

The ITR-3810 is a 24 GHz FMCW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave) RADAR sensor that integrates 4D-MIMO (Multiple-In-Multiple-Out) technology to detect both static and moving targets, measuring speed, distance, direction of movement and angle (up to 128 targets simultaneously). The device offers a 4+1 target classification function, allowing targets to be categorized into one of the following classes: car, van, truck, pedestrian/bicycle, other.

The ITR-3810 also allows: detection of wrong-way and broken-down vehicles, detection of vehicles stopped in the intersection area, measurement of vehicle queue length, or detection of pedestrians about to cross the road.

Ease of configuration and installation

The ITR-3810 offers a plug-and-play system that, together with the bundled GUI, simplifies system configuration and installation.

Via Ethernet or RS485 interface, both a target list and an event list can be received, making it possible to use the system as a trigger, since it allows automatic response to customer-defined events. For example, when a specific event occurs (a certain number of vehicles in queue, blocked intersection, excessive speed that would not allow safe braking), the ITR-3810 can transmit a signal to the traffic light system, effectively integrating with the existing infrastructure.

The ITR-3810 traffic monitoring radar has a housing rated IP67 and works reliably regardless of light and/or weather conditions. The operating temperature ranges between -40°C and +80°C and it requires a 24 V or 48 V input power supply.

The ITR-3810 traffic radar has compact dimensions of 270 x 102 x 37 mm and is a lightweight, extremely easy-to-handle product.
