SSD Chips – Graphics processor
SM768 is a high-performance graphics processor from Silicon Motion that provides dual display channels and supports multiple output interfaces, including HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI, VGA, LVDS, and digital interfaces. Supported operating systems: Windows, Linux, macOS X, Android. Supports internal DDR3 memory of 256 MB or up to 1 GB and external DDR 2/3 memory.
SM768 features a 128-bit graphics engine for smooth viewing on high-resolution graphics displays and provides color space conversion and scaling functionality. Display resolution supports up to 4K UHD (3840×2160@30p) or 2K/Full HD@60p. All this, with low CPU resource consumption.
SM768 supports H.264/MJPEG hardware video decoding. There is also an option to embed 256 MB of DDR3 memory in a single 19×19 mm package.
The product connects to the host via the USB 3.0 device interface or the PCIe 2.0 interface and can support various applications, for example: USB display, Thin/Zero client, digital signage, and Embedded displays.
SMI’s Content Adaptive Technology (CAT) uses adaptive algorithms to compress content and can send it to the display via USB or network. SM768 also features an internal four-port USB 2.0 host/hub for connecting peripherals such as keyboard and mouse.
