iSYS-5021: 3D MiMo RADAR with Smart Tracking Multi-Target up to a range of 150m
Today there is very strong demand for new Security/Anti-Intrusion solutions, that are easy to implement and reliable. RADAR (Radio Detection And Ranging) modules
meet these requirements while, at the same time, offering further advantages: full operation – regardless of weather conditions, harsh weather and environmental interference – minimal maintenance, anonymous monitoring and wide coverage of the areas of interest.
The challenge: making RADAR technology easier to use
Today, however, some difficulties remain in implementing and using RADAR solutions. RADAR technology is in fact very complex, and without adequate expertise, setting up correct detection is difficult.
Indeed, adapting and integrating it into one’s own security system often requires extensive development work and related extra costs (in terms of money, time and staff resources).
Some companies do not have sufficient resources for this activity, and Time to Market is often too long.
So, to make it easier to implement, integrate and use RADAR technology, InnoSenT GmbH has developed the iSYS-5021 RADAR system with Smart Tracker, distributed in Italy by CONSYSTEM S.r.l.

iSYS-5021 with Smart Tracker: the innovative RADAR solution
The iSYS-5021 RADAR system, which operates in the 24 GHz-ISM band (24GHz radar), is equipped with an advanced Smart Tracker localization function, which, through filtering and classification, combines RADAR detections with tracked data (traces) and enables anonymous monitoring of relevant events, thus providing end users with precise information
(see Fig. 2).

The iSYS-5021 RADAR can provide information on movement behavior for up to a maximum of 20 people simultaneously. Traces continue to be recorded even if a person briefly stops moving, changes posture or starts crawling. Irrelevant objects or interfering factors are ignored by the RADAR system. End users can also individually define alarm triggers and monitoring of a specific detection area (Danger Zone). The Smart Tracker guarantees wide coverage, with a detection area of up to 150m and an opening angle of 110° (equal to approximately 29,500 m²).
The iSYS-5021 also offers the ability to “view” a “history” of targets and monitored areas.
Without the Smart Tracking function, customers would have to evaluate the raw data themselves and decide which of the numerous RADAR reflections are relevant. With Smart tracking instead, the development work for signal processing and correct data evaluation becomes easier and more immediate.
Easy implementation and integration with CCTV security systems
The iSYS-5021 was designed to guarantee ease of integration with other security systems such as CCTV: while RADAR technology anonymously detects movements in an individually configurable detection area, the CCTV system provides high-resolution images, for a complete and efficient analysis scenario (see Fig. 3).
For this purpose, a useful function is available to focus on the potential danger: the Smart Tracker can in fact move the field of view of the security camera towards a specific target identified in the alarm zone.

Ultimately, the new iSYS-5021 series guarantees security equipment manufacturers a significant competitive advantage thanks to 3D MIMO (Multiple In Multiple Out) technology – with a precise angular resolution on which the Smart Tracker is developed – and a “minimized” time-to-market phase, able to respond to the increasingly fast-paced demands of the market.
