One of the first elements that, nowadays, is increasingly taken into account when designing display solutions is – in addition to a clear and sharp display of content – the ability to interact immediately with the display “medium”.

The future of displays: OLEDs, an announced revolution
Setting the pace for this change is OLED technology (Organic Light Emitting Diode). This technology makes it possible to create color displays capable of emitting their own light (thus requiring no additional components for illumination), as well as guaranteeing further significant and immediate advantages such as: great lightness and flexibility (displays can even be made foldable), greater color contrast, a wide viewing angle, better response time and high energy efficiency.
TDO & CONSYSTEM
Given this scenario, CONSYSTEM S.r.l. offers, in preview, on the Italian market, the new OLED display solutions from the “high tech” company TDO.
TDO, a company specializing in the development of Display, TFT, OLED and IoT display module solutions, has developed three different lines of OLED solutions (all customizable and can be equipped with capacitive touch screens):
AM-OLED
technology that offers high resolution, color displays, and can operate down to a temperature of -40°. It is the ideal solution for all sectors: Mobile, VR, Wearable, Industry, Military.
The range is characterized by display sizes ranging from 0.95” to 8.0”, with SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) and MIPI (Mobile Industry Processor Interface) interfaces. The AM-OLED line offers a very wide resolution range (from 180*120 px up to 1080*1920 px), with a brightness ranging from 350 to 400 cd/m2. Four remarks available (in different formats): Square, Circular, also with Capacitive Touch Panel “CTP”.
Micro OLED
Micro OLED technology (OLED technology developed on Silicon) is characterized by a high image resolution (up to 2000 PPI – Pixels Per Inch – or more), as well as high brightness (3000/10000 cd/m2), offers wide visual contrast, and is characterized by minimal energy consumption.
The line is distinguished by “minimal” display sizes (0.23″; 0.39”; 0.61”; 1.31”) and by CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) interfaces – ideal for image sensors – and MIPI. All this allows for extensive integration of Micro OLED displays with multiple substrates, making it an ideal solution in the AR/VR (“Virtual Reality”/“Augmented Reality”) fields.
The solutions are characterized by a wide range of possible resolutions (640*400, 800*600, 1024*768, 1280*768, 1600*1200, 1600*1200) and are available in four different remarks (Square, Circular, Circular/CTP, Square/CTP).
PM-OLED
A characteristic element of the line is its “low power” consumption, at low voltage. These display solutions can operate in extremely harsh environments (down to a temperature of -40°C), making them an ideal technology for the following sectors: Wearable, Automotive, Smart Home Application.
The range is characterized by displays ranging in size from 0.66” to 2.40”, with 6800/8080/SPI/I2C interfaces and various resolutions (64*48 px; 128*32 px; 96*64 px; 128*64 px; 128*128px).
The line is characterized by brightness ranging from 350 to 400 cd/m2 and multiple (pin-based) remarks: 24Pin-P0.50; 15Pin-P0.65 and 28Pin-P0.65; 22Pin-P0.70; 26Pin-P0.70; 31Pin-P1.00.
