IMD-1100: the smallest 24 GHz motion detection RADAR sensor for security applications (intrusion detection) and building automation
The IMD-1100, produced by InnoSenT, is the smallest 24 GHz Continuous Wave (CW) Motion Detection radar sensor on the market (20 x 15 x 2.7 mm).
The abbreviation IMD stands for “InnoSenT Motion Detector” and suggests the product’s functionality: that of being a radar sensor, but not a conventional one. What the IMD-1100 offers, in fact, is more than simple motion detection.
Thanks to the two I/Q output signals, the radar sensor is able to detect the movement, direction (approaching and moving away) and speed of targets (objects/people) within a range of about 15m.
The industrial temperature range, from -25°C to +55°C, allows the IMD-1100 radar full reliability under adverse weather conditions and in complex environments, while also guaranteeing privacy protection thanks to anonymous monitoring.
Ease of installation
Thanks to its compact size and 3.3V power supply, the IMD-1100 motion sensor is easy to install/apply, even in the case of battery-powered solutions or hard-to-reach locations (curtain sensors, corridor monitoring, industrial areas, etc.), while still guaranteeing a versatile field of view (72° x 36°).
