iSYS-5220: efficient, high-performance radar system for traffic monitoring and road intersection management
The iSYS-5220 is a device belonging to the 4D MIMO (Multiple In Multiple Out) RADAR family from InnoSenT, a German company – distributed in Italy by CONSYSTEM – a leader in radar technology and monitoring solutions for Security and IoT.
This is an FMCW radar system (Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave radar) operating in the 24 GHz ISM band, designed and optimized for traffic monitoring and road intersection management, even in the presence of winding roads or high traffic volumes.
The iSYS-5220, with a detection range of up to 350m, records presence, movement, speed, direction, distance and angle of vehicles, and is also able to track stationary vehicles and pedestrians. Specifically, it is capable of detecting up to 128 targets simultaneously thanks to a tracking function that provides information on movement history and ensures that vehicles are not lost, even in heavy traffic situations.
This radar system’s technology makes it possible to divide vehicles into four classes (cars, vans, trucks and non-motorized) and to identify their lane, with up to 16 lanes detectable simultaneously.
The iSYS-5220 is ideal for numerous specific applications: traffic statistics, red-light running control, detection of accidents and wrong-way driving, queue length estimation, traffic light and intersection management, stop bar detection.
