The INS series: two control functions (presence & motion + proximity) in a single system
The INS series is built on a 24 GHz Doppler radar solution for detecting moving objects and people as well as their proximity/closeness. The INS series in fact combines a presence and motion detector together with a proximity detector, all in a single system. INS can therefore detect people/objects/vehicles moving in an environment and at the same time function as a touchless switch thanks to its UART interface.
This makes it possible to turn on/activate related equipment and to use it as a touch-free sensor (also to control the various devices linked to the radar system – see Fig. 2).
Three LEDs connected to the INS sensor show the device’s active functions. Two LEDs allow the display of the direction-of-movement function (approaching/moving away), while the third indicates the proximity switch function.
Depending on the model, the range of the motion detector function can reach from 5 m up to 10 m distance. The presence detector function activates within a range of less than 5 cm or 10 cm. The range is configurable, allowing users to make individual adjustments. The various INS devices have small dimensions (5 x 3.5 x 3.5 mm), requiring little space and thus allowing the sensors to be integrated into a product in a non-invasive way.
The INS solutions are SMD (Surface Mountable Device), making installation easy and practical. The products are equipped with an Eco and Standby mode for low power consumption.
The wide operating temperature range from -20 to +60°C allows use even in extreme working and industrial “harsh” environments, making them ideal solutions as proximity sensors for smart homes, home automation, and access control.
The iSYS-50×0 series
InnoSenT has developed the iSYS-50xx series as an additional component for Security / Video Control systems.
The iSYS-50xx solutions feature a 3D MIMO (Multiple in Multiple Out) radar – operating in the 24GHz-ISM band, with integrated signal processing.
The series is built on a 24GHz Radar Front End (RFE) with a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) board and offers the possibility of both an SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) and UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitter) interface for agile transmission of the output: the target list.
Thanks to these features, the iSYS-50xx series guarantees simultaneous acquisition of speed, distance, and angular deviation data for one or more targets, with complete signal processing, detecting and separating moving and fixed targets according to their Azimuth angle, distance, and speed, thus making it possible to detect a target in a two-dimensional environment and allowing differentiation between static and moving objects.
The coverage area can range from 4,000 m² up to 29,500 m². The integrability of the series with CCTV systems allows a new level of security in video surveillance to be explored, ultimately offering a more complete security system, capable of meeting the security, peace of mind, and accuracy requirements demanded by the market.
These solutions are ideal for various applications such as intrusion sensors, perimeter sensors, and security sensors.
